Meet Ms. Myrtle, petite and sweet as sugar but still a very shy gal who will reward the most patient adopter with lots of love and affection.  

Despite a tough start in life, Myrtle is wonderfully adapting to living in a home, with zero litter accidents. The key to her heart is through her belly, both food and rubs! She loves to be pampered and caressed and will purr for hours as long as you keep giving her pets. 

She’s looking for a home with unending treats, which weren’t always such an easy score living on the streets. Myrtle showed up at a community feeding site in Baltimore city over a year ago and quickly captured the attention of her caretakers with her beautiful singing voice and her arias sung from a nearby fire-escape. Shortly later she started showing off her moves, greeting her feeders with her signature shuffle whenever they would arrive,  earning her the nickname “tiny dancer.” 

Her difficult start in life hasn’t stolen her joy. Though it is clear that humans haven’t always been kind to her she still loves to sing - preferably at night. Though Myrtle dreams of a life on the big stage, right now she’s still practicing her repertoire in the privacy of her hiding spots under or behind furniture. She’s not yet confident coming out in the big wide open spaces in daylight, but she’ll gladly have you join for a private rehearsal and welcomes snuggles and words of encouragement there. Her favorite props are her little mouse toy and her scratcher pad. 

Myrtle has been in a foster home for 2 months as an only pet. She will need a quiet home with a patient adopter who can help make her feel at ease. She’d do best in a home without small children and dogs, but with a slow introduction, she would likely be ok in a home with friendly, gentle cats that let her make the first move.

Myrtle comes spayed, microchipped, with a clean bill of health and with all medical records.
