Volunteering with FRA
The Feline Rescue Association is a network of volunteers working together to save the cats and kittens of Baltimore. We have no physical location- all of the cats in our care are housed in the homes of our fosters. Every member of FRA is a volunteer, most who balance work and family lives as well. We would truly not exist if not for our many, incredible volunteers.
Ways to Volunteer
FOSTER:
Foster families temporarily house and care for one or more cats or kittens. All you need to provide is a safe, clean and loving environment, plenty of TLC, and make sure the cat has a clean litter box and fresh food and water.

TRAP NEUTER RETURN (TNR):
Our TNR team plays a vital role in our rescue.
Trap-Neuter-Return refers to trapping community cats, taking them to be spay/neutered and vaccinated, and then returning them to their community, if safe. TNR humanely controls the feral cat population, reduces unwanted behaviors and minimizes health issues associated with unaltered and unvaccinated animals, and protects them, other animals, and our community from the deadly rabies virus.
Our TNR team also traps friendly cats and kittens who have been reported outside by the community which will then be brought into FRA's foster program.

PARK HEIGHTS ANIMAL WELFARE GROUP:
PHAWG is a group of FRA volunteers working together to provide the community cats of Park Heights with daily food, TNR services, and shelter when needed. You can volunteer to help PHAWG by signing up for a shift to feed the cats, help TNR, help build winter shelters, and more

ADMIN:
FRA's behind the scenes volunteers are crucial to our organization! Our admin volunteers help process our adoption applications, which can be completely done from the comfort of your own home.
Our admin team is also a huge help planning and organizing events, as well as attending events to be an extra set of helping hands.

Adoption Event Volunteers
Want to foster but don't have the space? Volunteers at least 18 years of age (or <18 with a parent) can hang out with kitties at our adoption events and help them find forever homes!
Adoption events are typically 3-4 hours and held on Saturdays at Loyal Companion in Canton and Sundays at Petco in Gambrills.
